Getting Quikturn Set Up

Use this decision tree to choose the fastest, reliable path for your device.

Start Here — Choose Your Path

  • Path A: Company‑Managed (Work) device → Try installing from Microsoft AppSource. If the store is blocked or the add‑in doesn’t appear, ask IT to deploy via manifest.
  • Path B: Personal / Unmanaged device → Install from Microsoft AppSource. If the store is unavailable, use Manual (manifest) install.

Why this matters: Many organizations block the Office Add‑ins Store and sideloading on managed laptops. Centralized deployment by IT is the reliable route in those environments.

Path A — Company‑Managed (Work) Devices

Heads‑up: On managed laptops, the Office Add‑ins Store or sideloading may be disabled. If AppSource is blocked, have IT deploy Quikturn using our manifest.

A1) Your Steps

  1. Try AppSource (recommended):
    • Install from the listing: Quikturn on Microsoft AppSource
    • Or in PowerPoint: Insert → Get Add‑ins (or Home → Add‑ins → Get Add‑ins) → search “Quikturn”Add.
  2. If the store is blocked or Quikturn still doesn’t appear, send the manifest link below to IT and ask for centralized deployment.

A2) What IT Needs

  • Manifest file: https://cdn.quikturn.io/
  • Deployment method: Microsoft 365 Centralized Deployment (Admin Center) or your org’s approved Office Add‑in deployment method.
  • Target app: PowerPoint (Office Web Add‑in).
  • Assignment: Your user account (or the correct distribution group).

A3) Copy‑Paste Email to IT

Path B — Personal / Unmanaged Devices

Install via the Microsoft Office Add‑ins Store:

  • From the listing: Quikturn on Microsoft AppSource
  • Or in PowerPoint: Insert → Get Add‑ins (or Home → Add‑ins → Get Add‑ins) → search “Quikturn”Add

After installing:

  1. Open PowerPoint → Home ribbon → Add‑ins icon → My Add‑ins (or Admin Managed) → select Quikturn.
  2. Sign in with your credentials.

If the store is blocked by security policy, proceed to B2) Manual (Manifest) Install.

B2) Manual (Manifest) Install

Download Manifest File
Watch: Manual Installation Tutorial

Follow the video for a complete manifest-based installation. If your environment blocks sideloading, switch to Path A (Company‑Managed) and ask IT to deploy.

Verify Installation

After installation, you should see:

  1. A Quikturn button in PowerPoint’s Home ribbon.
  2. The task pane opens when you click the button.
  3. A sign‑in prompt appears for first‑time setup.

Then continue to First Run Walkthrough.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t install from AppSource / Add‑ins Store → Use Manual (Manifest) Install (Path B2) or ask IT for centralized deployment (Path A).
  • Add‑in doesn’t appear in PowerPoint → Centralized deployment may be required; contact IT (Path A) or email us.
  • Sign‑in problems → Verify credentials or contact [email protected].
